Mental Health Peer Support Worker

I experienced a mental health emergency in 2018 after years of experiencing targeted racism in graduate school in Atlantic Canada. This experience led me to feel anxious, depressed, and manic. During my recovery, I spent 4 years at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health’s outpatient program where I learned valuable skills to positively affect my mental health, substance management, anxiety, and depression. Peer support was, and continues to be, a life-affirming service that helps me to maintain positive mental health.

I hold two fellowships from Yale University’s Program for Recovery and Community Health and from the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. I offer one-on-one and group sessions grounded in compassionate listening, resource referrals, and sharing of lived experiences.
